The lodge in San Gerardo de Dota is an excellent base from which to explore nature.
The lodge is surrounded by incredible nature and is used as a base for exploring the middle reaches of the Rio Savegre. Surrounded by cloud forests, many animal species can be discovered in the valley, but the valley is primarily known to ornithologists. Not least because of the strikingly frequent sightings of the Quetzal bird of the gods.
The hotel is a family project where a former finca has been transformed into a nature reserve. Many hiking trails start from the lodge and horseback riding tours are offered. The rooms or bungalows are made of wood, spacious and warmly furnished - because it gets cold here.
