Panama borders Costa Rica to the west

The central Pacific coast between Panama City and Costa Rica is incredibly beautiful and has good infrastructure.

This is the province of Chiriquí, where the most important border crossing with Costa Rica, Paso Canoas, is located.
Chriquí is one of the most agriculturally productive regions of Panama. Coffee, limes, oranges, strawberries, bananas, potatoes and sugar cane are grown here. You can also see large cattle farms along the way.

The highest mountain in Panama, the Barú volcano (3470 m above sea level) is located near Vulkan (it is simply called Volcán ). It is the most famous volcano in Panama, is a national park and the oldest nature reserve in Panama. Panama's national bird, the quetzal, is said to be spotted particularly often here. The town of Boquete is very close. The place is not big, but has now developed into one of the most important tourist places in Panama. Because of the pleasant climate, many emigrants live here, which means that real estate prices are extremely high.

Playa Las Lajas is one of the longest palm-sand beaches in Central America. Tourism has now discovered this unique beach - but there is still no human crowds to speak of.

The beautiful archipelago " Bocas del Toro ", on the Caribbean coast near the border with Costa Rica, invites you to go on diving and snorkeling adventures. The border crossing from Sixaola to Costa Rica is also easy to reach from here. Daily shuttle buses make this very easy and inexpensive.
