The Laguna Lodge has 106 rooms, is located between the Rio Tortuguero and the Caribbean Sea and offers a spectacular natural experience in its 2.5 hectare gardens. The lodge is quite far from the town, but it can still be easily reached on foot or by boat taxi. A wonderfully beautiful walk along the coast.
The Laguna Lodge Botanical Garden is a tranquil place to experience the natural beauty of the Caribbean. You will find numerous tropical and medicinal plants and many things will be explained by the professional guides.
The package includes overnight stay in the comfortable lodge, all meals and 3 tours.
The nearby beach invites you to take long walks: between July and October, when the giant tortoises lay their eggs there, the beach is closed in the evenings. Then you are only allowed to watch the turtles spawning with a group organized by the lodge. Of course, the whole thing takes extreme precautions so as not to disturb the turtles under any circumstances.
Tortuguero can only be reached by boat or plane. A stay at the Laguna Lodge should definitely be booked in conjunction with a tour - we are happy to advise you.
The normal offer is the three-day tour from/to San Jose, Santa Ana or another meeting point in the Central Valley. We are also happy to plan a pickup in the Caribbean, for example.
The tour can end back in the central valley, we are happy to organize a rental car in the Caribbean, a transfer to the beaches, the Sarapiqui area or to la Fortuna. You can also travel between Tortuguero and the Central Valley by plane.
You should definitely take advantage of all the tours and activities offered by the lodge - included in the price. There are also more tours that you can book on site.
For example, an early morning boat tour is offered, where you can easily observe the wildlife of the Tortuguero National Park. The professional guides know the national park like the back of their hand and have a lot of background information about the flora and fauna.
Our favorite is the kayak tour. This is after you have already taken part in the canal tour (incl.) with a guide and have had everything explained in detail. Then you do it all again in peace and quiet in your kayak. Great!
