Rio Toro Waterfall in Costa Rica
Not far from the Poás volcano, the natural valley of the Rio Toro is hidden.
Green forested steep slopes, endless nature and waterfalls are characteristic of this landscape.
In this secret valley lie the “ Cataratas del toro “. This is a private nature reserve that offers a uniquely beautiful 100 m high waterfall.
Shortly before reaching the waterfalls, you cross the “ Rio Desague ”, where you can observe the blue color phenomenon.
At the Cataratas, a path carved into the rock leads to the foot of the waterfall, where you even have the opportunity to swim.
On the way you can observe many animals, admire great rock and plant formations and take great photos.
Back after the strenuous climb, a delicious lunch awaits you in the reserve's family restaurant. Countless hummingbirds buzz around.
We offer this tour individually by arrangement or you can drive to the waterfall in your own car. This destination is far off the normal tourist routes. The waterfalls can also be easily incorporated into a circular tour that can be easily combined with other destinations in the region.
