Caño negro day tour (from la Fortuna)

The tour to Caño Negro is ideal for observing animals

Nowhere else will you see so many animals together in such a small area. Incredible nature and an incredible variety of animals await visitors. The journey from la Fortuna to Caño negro is already very interesting.

You drive through orchards and see how pineapple, sugar cane, yuka and papaya are grown.

The starting point for the tour is the restaurant “El Caiman” on the Rio Frio . After a welcome drink, we board the boat to observe the animals. Now you can immerse yourself in the real animal life of Costa Rica: caimans, monkeys, turtles, iguanas, lizards and lots of birds. Every ornithologist loves the Caño Negro with its rich birdlife: herons, herons, great egrets, American stilts, ibises, cormorants, storks, shovelers - that's just a very small selection of what you can see here.

At the end of the tour there is a delicious, typical meal in the restaurant.
