The North Pacific
Guanacaste & the beaches to the north
The northern part of the Pacific coast of Costa Rica plays one of the most important roles in the tourism development of Costa Rica.
The largest hotels, the most popular beaches and many visitors can be found in the two provinces, Guanacaste and Puntarenas. A large part of this attractive zone makes up the province of Guanacaste, which also includes a large part of the Nicoya Peninsula . We particularly recommend the beaches and associated towns of Samara and Tamarindo - both very beautiful dream beaches, each with a nice place. So you not only have a beautiful beach, but also some life and fine dining.
The capital of Guanacaste, Liberia, now has an international airport where flights from all over the world land. For example, KLM flies direct from Europe.
But the North Pacific doesn't just have beaches to offer: the Orosi volcanoes and the Rincón de la vieja volcano belong to the North Pacific area and represent unknown and very special destinations for the traveler.
