Canaima is one of the main attractions in Venezuela. Here you are close to the "Angel Falls" (Salto Angel), which is almost one kilometer high, the highest waterfall in the world.
Canaima is located on a beautiful lagoon, which is fed by five waterfalls, and has paradisiacal beaches. A unique experience, and obligatory program in Venezuela. Our three-day tour with a boat trip to Angel Falls, is a unique experience.
Day 1: Exciting Approach
An absolutely thrilling flight with a five-seat Cessna, which starts in Ciudad Bolivar and goes first over the Guri Lake, the largest lake in the world. Then you fly over dark green jungles along the river of the Rio Caroní, to the foot of the Auyan Tepuy, landing in Canaima. Canaima is a peaceful Pemón-place, situated on a beautiful lagoon, which is fed by several attractive waterfalls.
There, the Canaima Lagoon can be crossed by a motorized canoe, and arrive to the Salto Sapo. The Sapo is an attraction in itself. Then we have time for swimming at a freshwater beach. In the evening, in the midst of the settlement, we continue to the cozy camp. Delicious dinner by the Indians in a wood oven.
