The National Park Chirripó
Cordillera de Talamanca, altitude of 1000 m to 3820 (Cerro Chirripó)
The National Park Chirripó, at an average altitude of 1600 m, is located in the eastern Central Valley, and keeps the highest mountain peak in Costa Rica- the Cerro Chirripó. It has a height of 3820 m.
The National Park borders the international National Park "La Amistad", and make together the largest contiguous protected area of Costa Rica and Panama.
Here some endemic plant species are protected, the forest shows a typical transition between forest tropical cloud forest and alpine forests, from and beyond the tree line. Numerous mountains, wide rivers, and huge waterfalls are located in the picturesque area.
