great nature in Tapantí park
The Tapanti National Park, also called Orosi National Park
It is located near the slopes of the Cordillera de Talamanca
The Rio Orosi, and other rivers flow through the park. The National Park is a protected area of the National Park, that represents Chrirripó. To reach the park from San José to Cartago you must first drive towards Paraiso, then to Orosi.
After driving through the town to get to the ranger station (the park is open daily from 5.00 until 17.00 clock), just above the numerous hiking and trekking trails. The ranger shows a map on which the paths are listed. The time information go from 20 minutes to 1 hour.
You will reach wild waterfalls, rivers, where you can go swimming, and wonderfully located in the heart of the primitive nature.
The park has two different habitats. The lower tropical rain forest and a tropical mountain forest, in which it has been observed almost forty species of mammals. Including the tapir (Danta), the Red Brocket (a South American deer), the Florida forest rabbit, the kinkajou, the capuchin monkey, and many others.
