From here, you have access to a space surrounded by coffee plantation, the nature reserve "El Rodeo", and the University of Peace (Universidad de la Paz).
The International Peace University is based on an initiative of the UN. Currently is visited by almost 150 students from around the world, for programs focusing on peace studies, international law and human rights, and conflict resolution.

Right next to the university is the "Parque La Paz", a tropical installation with lakes, a picnic area and the Peace Monument, which commemorates the abolition of the military in Costa Rica in 1948.
